Church:
Daren Laws is the Lead Pastor of Bay City Church, a brand new church in the East Bay/Tri-Valley area of San Francisco. He was the Executive Pastor of Evangelism & Discipleship at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, CA. His oversight included the Adult Ministries: Small Groups, Discipleship Classes, Women’s, Men’s, Singles, Children’s, Special Needs and assisted with the multi-site campuses while serving on the executive team.
In 2009-2011 Daren was the Lead Pastor at Lighthouse Church in Thousand Oaks near Malibu; where in just two years, the church grew from 600 to 2,000 (Easter 2011) and saw over 1,100 decisions for Christ. His heart for the lost has led him to attempt new ways of reaching the communities he’s served; this has resulted in outstanding favor and huge impact at every level of community life.
Daren previously served as Lead Pastor of Heritage Church in Lincoln, California, which he and his wife Tracy founded in 1994. The church earned favor in all avenues of their community with city council, city manager, mayor, peace officers, schoolteachers and more. Within five years of starting Heritage Church, 1 in every 10 people in Lincoln attended Heritage Church. It has been documented by a consulting firm that 80 percent of the congregation were previously un-churched.
In addition, Daren has 14 years of youth ministry experience. He communicates important biblical truths in an encouraging and humorous style. He uses practical and down-to-earth language to inspire people to discover and live their own story in Christ.
Leadership:
Daren is a widely sought-after communicator and consultant who has a passion to grow leaders. He has been involved in local, national and global teaching and pastoral ministry for 32 years. He has spoken to thousands of people at leadership training events, retreats, seminars, and weekend church services worldwide.
Daren has also trained leaders for World Equipping International in Europe, Asia and the United States and founded and directed the Discipleship Training School for Youth With A Mission in Richardson Springs, CA. Daren also served as the Church Planting and Church Health Coordinator for two districts within the Foursquare denomination. He has trained 62 pastors who have each planted churches. He is a pastor to pastors.
My Family:
Daren and his wife Tracy have been married 27 years. Tracy has led and developed worship teams for 28 years. She is known for her amazing voice that brings the felt presence of God. Tracy speaks at women’s retreats, training events, and team-teaches with her husband on different occasions They have two sons, Samuel (24) and Isaac (22). Samuel planted his first church at age 21 while attending his sophomore year of Bible College. He pastored the church for two years then successfully transitioned the leadership of the church following his graduation. He was a pastor on staff at Lighthouse Church where he oversaw student ministries, led worship and was part of the teaching team. He is now coming to help Bay City Church. Isaac is a special needs child with cerebral palsy. He has a wonderful spirit and great smile; he loves to serve and help wherever he can. Isaac’s ministry brings a healing, calming presence wherever he goes.
